I apologize for my lack of posts, I have been a busy mama, but with a new assistant on board (details in a following post), I expect things to be a little more easy to juggle.
I have been very busy adding to the shop, what I’d like to refer to as the party patisserie on Etsy! I have been trying to add to the boy designs, as you can probaby tell my shop is very much dominated by pink designs!
Here is a sneak peek of what I’ve got coming:
The MOD Dino Collection:
Who said that dinosaur parties had to be limited to greens and browns? This collection was a fun one to work on. With fun station signs that prompted me and a frequent flier customer, Carmen, to come up with such as “For Sweetivores” for the dessert table, “For Herbivores” for the no-meat buffet and salad table, “For Carnivores” for the table with meat….. She also had an “Excavate Your Favors” station, with was for the gift table that had a sand bucket full of little favors for the guests to dig up. Brilliant!

Shabby Vintage Ice Cream Party Collection:
Another party for Lola (of the Shabby Chic Collection)! Photos to come from the very talented Lola Beane Photography, this party collection is very vintage patisserie inspired, and accented with shabby elements.

And, to start the week, Stefanie from Girl. Inspired (who designed and created Lola’s Shabby Chic dress (below) is hosting a giveaway this week! All of you who “Like” us both on Facebook be receiving free, exclusively designed for Girl. Inspired, stationery templates—so everyone is a winner! There will also be a drawing, and the winner is going to receive a digital/printable collection of their choice from my shop. FABULOUS!!
For anyone who loves sending super cute note cards to say thanks, or to keep in touch with friends and loved ones with super chic notecards—you will LOVE this free download! I decided that although we already have a fabulous giveaway for one lucky winner at the Girl.Inspired blog, I wanted to show my appreciation to all of my current and newest Facebook fans and blog followers with a free download for all to enjoy. EVERYONE is a winner here! What’s great, is that you can download and edit with your name on Microsoft Word. Just import the JPG file, sized at 8.5 x 11″, and insert a text box using your favorite font. Print, Cut along the dotted lines, score, and send! Easy peasy…
Now, to download these, all you’ll need is to do the following:
“Like” Girl. Inspired. on Facebook
“Like” Paper Candee on Facebook
After you’ve done the above, just email me at: desiree@papercandee.com or papercandee@gmail.com with the subject line: ”Free Stationery”, and myself or my design assistant Maita will invite you to the folder for download….
That’s it! Thank you, to all my loyal fans and customers—2012 has been fabulous thus far, and it’s because of you!

It’s been quite some time since my last post, and although I’ve had quite a lot going on (we just survived a big move to the Hampton Roads area in Virginia), I am truly sorry for the lack of updates in my world of parties! The summertime was consumed by boxes, long to-do lists, much more, and ended with an escape from Hurricane Irene. One can never say that I live a dull life!
My shop was closed at the time, and is closed again—-but this time for a really FANTASTIC reason! I have a few projects that will be highlighting my work in a special way. An announcement once the release date is finalized will be posted soon.
But for now, I MUST share with you one of my biggest dreams—a feature on the fabulous blog, Kara’s Party Ideas! Thanks to a supremely talented customer-turned-friend (I love all the party mamas I’ve befriended!), Nicole, who threw her sister Tonia and brand new niece a mouthwatering Breakfast Meet and Eat (a sip -n- see)! She came to me with a vision of bright colors, polka dots, and an invitation that fits in a tiny cereal box. How creative is that? Inside the cereal box, she inserted the very fun, multi-layered invitation that also had a “prize” (CLEVER!). She hand delivered them to her friends, and I’m sure they were all beyond delighted and squealed when they received them just as I did when I saw the photographs that Nicole sent of the final product!
Nicole was kind enough to photograph the invitations for me, and about a month later when I saw pictures from her party, I was weak in the knees! She delivered. Hands down one of the best parties I have ever seen. Check out the feature on Kara’s Party Ideas here.
Enjoy the scrumptious photos! More on the details and photos to come!

Who needs envelopes? The invitation which included a cover page and the main invitation (attached by a grommet), were inserted into these mini cereal boxes. Mini stickers saying, “Prize Inside”, I’m sure, were enticing to baby Grace’s guests!
The invitation. Swing it open to see party details. Check a sample of the ring that Nicole placed into the cereal boxes.

Hi all, I’m back with none other than eye candy for you all! It has been a busy couple of months for sure.
But first—I’d like to share with you all one of the highlights of May—–my husband is finally back home from a lengthy nine month deployment. It was a beautiful sight, seeing mommies like me out there with their big signs for their husbands, toting their babies, a few of them just a month or two old. Tears were streaming down my face even before I arrived at the pier. How I’ve missed my husband and best friend….

So as you all know, I’m busy preparing for a move. So if you see my shop closed at any time this month and the following, you’ll know why. I *MAY* keep things open just for printable orders, but it depends on just how busy things are here at home.
Now, without further ado, a ’sneak peek’ of some fabulous party features!

‘Til next time… Toodles!
Happy Mama’s day to all you FABULOUS mamas out there! In celebration of this special day, I am offering a FREE PRINTABLE! These were created because the other day, I met a fellow mommy in the park that I ‘hit it off’ with. When it was time leave, we were both scrounging around for pen and paper in our purses so we could exchange numbers. Well, here are ‘mommy cards’ that I designed that you can print at home, and easily hand out in situations like mine.
SO perfect to fill in your own info, or to gift to a friend or even your mom!!!
The file, which includes all designs shown below, will be sent via Word document for easy printing *and* editing. Basically, you can download any free fonts out there that suits your taste, type in whatever info you wish, and print away! If you favor one design over the other, simply delete that and click “copy”, then “paste” the design of your choice throughout the page…. If you’re anything like me, I can NEVER decide on one and want them all! LOL
These measure 3.5 inches x 3.5 inches, so four designs can fit on one 8.5 x 11 page. How to get the files? Simply “Like” me on Facebook and/or Etsy and then email papercandee (at) gmail.com with “Mother’s Day” in the subject line to request for your Mother’s Day gift…

Please note these are for personal use only, and my company web address will be included on all designs as shown..
Font used in above designs can be downloaded here:

Thanks, and have a beautiful Mother’s Day!
FINALLY, I’m ready to reveal my Shabby Chic Collection!
A little background—I designed this line for my daughter’s 3rd birthday last summer. I’m excited to see that shabby chic designs continue to be all the rage! Here’s hoping this makes a mark in the enormous sea of gorgeous designs out there…
I just love invitations that are not your usual flat card design. I do love a simple invitation, but on many other occasions, I like to brainstorm a little bit for something that stands out. An entertainer at heart, I always want my guests to be enticed (or better yet, THRILLED) to come to my events. At my party, I want them to be able to feast on delicious foods, and be overloaded with eye candy. When they leave, I want my guests to leave with the thought, “I’m glad I skipped so-and-so’s soccer game to go to that party.” But most of all, I want my children to remember that each and every birthday is special and a cause for celebration.
So without further ado, here are photos of my Shabby Chic Tea Party Collection!

Back from a very hectic time away from blogging, but I assure you I will be more active by this summer. First, I must share with you some BIG news.
Good news # 1:
My husband, who has been away on a very politically active deployment at sea, is coming home soon! My family will be whole again. The lengthy nine months apart was full of difficulties—and I sure predicted it before he left when I said that things in the home will be falling apart once he’s gone! Things from an ice-filled gutter that collapsed and destroyed my deck to a never-ending leak in my basement…. *sigh* All that havoc is SO worth the wait, because while he was gone, he and the men and women of his command have completed a handful of humanitarian efforts. He and his comrades were there when Pakistan needed flood relief aid, was on-call for help if Egypt needed it, and most recently, was an active participant in helping the country of Libya during this time of turmoil in their country… As controversial as these issues have been, I’m still proud to say that I’m the wife of a hero…..
Good news # 2:
I recently accessorized a special girl’s third birthday party, now known all over the blogosphere as Charlotte’s Storybook Soiree (link to slideshow).. It was a whimsical party that every little princess and Queen Mommy could only dream of! But even more special is that the party was all about giving back. When Charlotte was born, she had a cleft lip and palate. She endured numerous surgeries just in her first year of life, that after going through all that, Nicole felt that every year is special, and a chance to give back to the doctors and medical center that helped give Charlotte the beautiful smile that she now has…
Diana, from Diana Elizabeth Photography, captured the party so beautifully.. She and Charlotte’s mom, Nicole, of Uptown Bridal & Boutique in Chandler Arizona, were kind enough to share the images with me, and they soon submitted the photos to none other than Hostess with the Mostess. Well, I’m pleased to announce that the 27th of April marked my very first feature on HWTM!!!! The week has just been fantastic–I could hardly wipe the smile off of my face!!!
Kudos to both Diana & Nicole for their keen eye for beautiful things. I’m honored to have been a part of such a special and gorgeous celebration…

Wheee! It’s the weekend, and it’s party time! I’m back from being M.I.A., but mostly due to being busy with orders, my regular job, and a pending move! More on that later…
I’m just ecstatic to share with you all a fantastic party that was custom designed for my adorable mini clients–Alex & Marco! Alex & Marco are twin boys who just turned one this past February.

Their mom, Carmen, has a knack for party planning, and a true love for details that make all her parties truly shine! To see her talent, check out Lucas’ Whale Party here.
When Carmen came to me requesting a custom order for her twin boys, I was more than eager to take on the task! She wanted something vintage, with whimsical fonts, and in the beautiful color combination of red and blue. She also thought of incorporating “time flies” into the invitations and the paper goods at the party. We toyed around with many different styles of invitations (such as a passport invitation similar to my Parisian Passport Invitations), but the one pictured below was the one that captured her heart..
Pssst.. Don’t you just LOVE how she had them wearing aviator hats?!?!

We exchanged ideas but ultimately, I have to give Carmen credit! She pulled off an amazing first birthday celebration for her boys! The restaurant she booked not only had enough tables for the different ‘terminals’ at the party, but the walls also adorned vintage black and white photos on their walls that went along with the decor rather well. The ‘terminals’ were the different children’s activity stations:
-Crafts Terminal
- Coloring Terminal: ”Passport to Fun” coloring books
- Face Painting Station
-Baggage Claim: This is where the ‘little pilots’ picked up their party favors/luggage!

For the ‘baggage claim’, Carmen purchased lunch pails (clearance section at Old Navy for $2.30 each!) and filled them with snacks, aviator glasses, juice boxes and a small plane model toy. I made a luggage tag for each child, and Carmen tied them onto the handle. Each child got to pick up their luggage on their way out towards the end of the party… Aren’t they adorable??

Carmen’s dessert table was a show stopper as well. She had desserts such as “Aero Brownies”, “Pilot Cookies”, “Cockpit Crispies” (rice crispies treat bars), ”First Class Cupcakes”, and fondant topped aviator cookies.. She also baked them all the day before—–WOW!

Carmen used the Vintage Aviator collection’s digital file for the cupcake toppers, dessert table accents (the “A” and the “M”), dessert signs, as well as favor stickers, which she placed on the plastic bags holding the rice crispies treats!

Carmen accessorized with red and white polka dot cupcake liners, polka dot balloons, and accented the table with the party hats, and wrapping paper-covered boxes to add height and dimension to the dessert table.

Guests were asked to write in personalized photo guest books for both Alex & Marco.

For centerpieces, Carmen created bloom boxes filled with the red tissue paper, and tied balloons. Adorable!

For drinks, Carmen had juice boxes and, my favorite, ”Fuel for Little Pilots” (water)!

And finally, probably my favorite detail of the day was that Alex & Marco adorned vintage bow ties, while Carmen and her husband color-coordinated with navy blue tops! How cute!

Good Morning, party people!!!
First, I’d like to sincerely apologize for the lack of posts. I have been a busy bee between work and orders, which is a good thing, but leaves me little time for the party blogging world. That will all change pretty soon, just wait and see! So exciting!!
Today, I am SO excited to bring you one of my favorite party themes, and one that I had been promising my devoted customers to release for some time now—the Shabby Chic Tea Party collection!
I had a Shabby Chic tea party for my daughter back in November, but the day was so hectic that unfortunately, my paper goods were not photographed at the party. Lucky for me, Erica found my Shabby Chic cookies below, made by the FABULOUS Allyson Jane, and contacted me immediately.

She had said she was looking all over for someone who had shared her vision, and was excited to see what I had to offer! I have not yet released the collection, but her enthusiasm excited me! I emailed her a sneak peek of what I have for the collection, and well, I’m SO proud to say, Erica used my printable invitation file for the Shabby Chic tea party and she says they were a HIT!
Sidebar—Erica, owner of Lola Beane Boutique, has a knack for super adorable, chic things (check out her shop for the CUTEST headbands for your little girl!) that when she showed me a preview of the dessert table a day after Lola’s party, I literally had to catch my breath! She also created the party favors, which are so fitting for this theme.
So are you ready for some eye candy? All photos are by the super talented Brooke Logue from Brooke Logue Photography. Judge for yourselves by visiting her website–she is amazing!

Above, the gorgeous Lola Marie in her shabby chic dress. Happy 1st Birthday!

Yes, that teapot is a cake!

Oh how I LOVE doilies! Each letter is digitally superimposed on a dainty pink doily, perfect for a tea party!

Sandwiches were cut out with cookie cutters to suit the theme. Adorable!

Are you planning on baking some sweet treats for Valentine’s Day? Well, here are some super cute ideas for you to create!
Our first stop is by none other than the fabulous Bakerella! Known for her ubiquitously famous Cake Pops, she shows her ‘mad skillz’ creating fondant roses to top your cupcakes with! ( Pssst.. This would also be perfect for a Shabby Chic Tea Party!)

Source
Another SUPER CUTE idea are cupcakes in a jar! Why it’s only one of the latest trends in wedding favors! I think just about anything in a mason jar is adorable! This idea is perfect if you’re like me and you’re sending to your honey who is currently away… Check out the detailed, step-by-step tutorial here via Cakies blog:

In a hurry? Need something simple and still yummy? Well Bakerella does it again creating Red Velvet sandwich cookies using a cake mix (easy), or heart shaped Oreo cakesters (easier!) here.

So, which would you prefer to make?
Me? I would like to do them ALL, but knowing my schedule, I’d probably end up doing Bakerella’s heart shaped cakesters! Teehee!
